Boruto Manga Chapter 13 Summary

Team 7 is summoned to their sensei’s office. While they are on their way, Boruto tells Sarada and Mitsuki about his last mission as a bodyguard for the daimyō’s son, Tento, and how the two became friends despite the rough start they had. At Konohamara’s office, the trio are presented with a B-classified mission, and although they are initially apprehensive about the challenges, after hearing that elite shinobi such as the Fifth Kazekage have undertaken such missions while still genin, they are forced to do their best to upcoming mission. On his way out of Konohamara’s office, Boruto finds the extremely rare card he was looking for and realizes that Tentō must have pocketed it. While he is desperate for the card, Boruto is adamant that he cannot accept it and decides to go to Konoha Mountain Villa and return the Tentō card. While trying to find Tentō’s room, Boruto overhears Ikkyū talking to his bodyguards, distraught that Tentō has been kidnapped. Boruto lingered long enough to hear the details of the ransom demands of 500 million ryō and the release of all the prisoners from Hōzuki Castle, and also learned that Ikkyū had no plans to alert anyone else to the kidnapping, believing that his entourage he is a spy Boruto leaves the hotel and heads to Sarada’s house. Boruto somewhat catches her off guard, apologizing and letting her know that he wouldn’t be able to go on the mission with them, which Sarada understands must be for something important. Meanwhile, the kidnapped Tentō is confused when his captors reveal themselves and he sees Yamaoka in front of him. His real captor, Shojoji, reveals himself and explains his corpse cloning technique to the young man. Shojoji mocks Tentō’s love of shinobi while also stating that he himself was a shinobi, although he was not listed on any trading cards. After being picked up and thrown to the ground, Tentō finds the shuriken Boruto gave him and confronts Shojoji again, who mocks the effort before realizing that Tentō intends to kill himself. Shojoji is able to stop him before he decides to consume Tentō’s brain and assume his identity. Boruto arrives in time to thwart Shojoji and prepares to take on the Mujina Bandits.

 Chapter 13 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is titled “The Price of the Hidden Ace”. In this chapter, Boruto and his team are on a mission to protect a village from bandits. They encounter a powerful enemy who will be known as former shinobi Ao. Ao is a very skilled and dangerous opponent, and the team tries to defeat him.
